“I don’t know. I came through there.” She points to an opening. “I came that way but … that wasn’t there” she says, confused. “There was a room with the same wallpaper, but it is not there anymore!”

“There is no room there,” he says. “No wallpaper!”

“I’m going mad… mad.” Her shoulders fall.

“There is no way out of here,” he says to her, gently, as if breaking some bad news.

The realisation is hitting Sophia, and sinking in. “What? What do you mean? What do you mean there is no way out? There has to be!” She pleads to him with her eyes.

He can‘t bear that look. “There is one,” he says.

“Where?” she sighs.

“I don’t know,” he replies, with defeat in his voice. He could not lie to her.
