53 A voice from behind

“Turn around,” a man’s voice calls, from behind her. Sophia spins around in surprise. “Slowly … slowly,” the male voice says. The voice is controlled, and has consideration in its tone. A tall young man appears from the darkness with a large dagger in his hand. “Calm down … stay calm … and give me the lamp,” he says. There is no menace in his soft voice, but there is caution in the tone. The man stretches out his hand. “Give me the lamp back. Give it to me … slowly.”
